Howard Murphet, the famous author of the book, Sai Baba, Man of Miracles concludes his chapter Reality and Significance of the Miraculous thus: The miracles of Christ and Krishna must be taken on trust or through faith; those of Sai Baba you can see for yourself. Yes, at his Ashram, at Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, India, thousands throng every day to have a darshan (meaning to see) of him. Baba materializes objects from nowhere, levitates, performs acts of psycho kinesis, heals incurable diseases and grants whatever the devotee wants! On the 23rd of November 1929 Sathyanarayana was born in Puttaparthi, a very small village in Andhra Pradesh, India. In the lying in the room, the baby that was laid in the bed of clothes was found moving up and down in a peculiar way by something underneath. When it was searched, a cobra was found below the bed. The Avathar Vishnu is lying on the thousand head snake calls Sesha. The snake underneath the baby was acting the role of Sesha to this new avathar. On 23rd of May 1940 Sathya called all the members of the family. The villagers too joined. Sathya declared himself as I am Sai Baba. On a Thursday, some one challenged him saying, If you are Sai Baba show us some proof now. Baba threw the jasmine flowers placed in his hands on the floor, and lo, all the assembled were amazed to find that the flowers that fell formed themselves in to the Telugu (the language being spoken in Andhra) letters Sai Baba. The miracles are countless. Even as a child he used to surprise his friend by taking peppermints and sweets from empty bags. He materialized rubber, pencil by the wave of his hand. Baba regularly produces vibuthi meaning sacred ash till today by waving his hand. Several hundred tons of Sacred Ash might have been produced by HIM by now from the date of his announcement as SAI BABA. As Howard Murphet rightly puts it, one can see for himself/herself and experience the miracle before his/her naked eye. Scientsits experiments on Baba will be the topic for the future article. |
