Dating Tips: Making A Good First Impression, Part Two

Author: Nikki Smith

If you have not learned to make a good first impression, you are effectively shortchanging yourself. By not learning this vital part of human relations, you are keeping yourself from some of the best things in life. In dating, making a good first impression is vital, and it just might be the only thing that stands between you and the vibrant social life that you deserve.

Here is one thing you can do to make a better first impression: Act confidently! Act confidently, even if you dont feel confident! It is a basic psychological principle that our actions have a material effect on our emotions. In other words, the way you act affects the way you feel! Even if you dont have as much confidence as you might like, act as if you do anyway. Pretty soon, your acting will start to become reality, and you will gain added confidence, which of course translates into better first impressions.

Here are a few pointers: When you walk into a room, hold your head up high. Dont look away when your date talks to you retain eye contact for the most part. When you are walking, dont look at the ground or the floor. Look straight ahead, and look at the people who look at you! When dating, form the habit of thinking of yourself as a confident person, and act like it.

When talking to your date, dont place your hands in your pockets it reduces your effectiveness as a speaker. When talking to a prospect, use your whole body to communicate. Gesture often. Avoid the signs of being insecure or being ill-at-ease, such as fixing your hair all the time, checking your watch constantly, or loosening your collar.

By acting like a confident person, you will make a good first impression. This will surely help you to get more dates and better dates!
