Some people think that there is some magic formula that can be used to build traffic or that there is just one way that will lead to success. The true answer is that traffic comes from a combination of sources, which, when put together, will increase the visitors coming to your site. 1. Think of all those people who visit your site because theyre interested in what you have to offer, but who are unlikely to visit you again. If you havent yet started building a list, then now is the time to start. Getting your visitors signed up to your newsletter or ezine will ensure repeat visitors to your site. A popular way to do this is via a lead capture page where the only option on the page is to sign up by giving their name and email. Of course, youll need to offer something worthwhile for them to do this a free ebook or mini-course in your specialised area is a common and popular offer. 2. Continue to build your list! Using a good pop-up on your site can radically improve your sign-ups. Keep up to date with what is working and hasnt yet been blocked by the pop-up blockers! At present, Matt Callen is offering a great little piece of software that seems to beat the other options on the market. 3. Build your list some more. Once youve got a list up and running, you can run joint ventures with other people who have lists that compliment yours. This will enable you to rapidly increase your list by each referring your clients to the others newsletter, product or ezine. Sign up on sites like Warrior Forum to find out more about this and to find good contact to work with. 4. Use your Autoresponder creatively. Although some people email out their whole newsletter by giving a taster of the newsletter but inviting them to visit your site to read further, youll immediately increase your visitors from your existing list. 5. Submit to directories there are literally hundreds of free directories that will provide links to your site. Take time to submit your site to these even just one a week will make a difference to your visitors over a period of time. 6. Write articles writing articles establishes you as an expert in your area. People will often visit your site to find out more about you or the subject which you are writing about. If people publish your articles, make sure that you have links pointing back to your site in the Resource box as this will help you rank better in the search engines. 7. Join forums get in contact with people working in your niche. This way youll learn more, but youll also be able to share ideas and opportunities. Commenting on forums and blogs will also create beneficial one-way links back to your site improving your ranking in the search engines further. Do at least one thing every day to build traffic whether its to add a page to your site, comment on a blog, write an article, submit to a directory |
