Free Basketball Picks - 3/31/06

Author: David Pincus

If you are going to bet on Friday March 31, 2006, then you must take a look at our thoughts below.

Best: Nets @ Hawks: New Jersey already lost in Atlanta earlier this year. The Hawks have beaten the Nuggets, Spurs and Pistons as well at home, proving that they can be successful even with only 10,000 fans watching. Vince Carter is the key; if he has a high-scoring game then New Jersey should be fine. Predicted Score: New Jersey wins 97-91 in comfortable fashion.

Runner-up: Suns @ Raptors: With Phoenix playing their 4th game in 5 days, they should be thoroughly tired enough to be at Toronto's level. How will Stoudemire do under all the games? He might have to come off the bench, since playing 4 of 5 right after knee surgery could be too much. Predicted Score: Toronto wins 106-103 in a very close one.

Blowout: Bucks @ Pistons: Milwaukee's weakness is defense, where they present pretty much none. So facing the Pistons is the last thing they want to do. Sure they score enough to win each night, but allow enough for their opponent to do the same. Predicted Score: Detroit wins 99-88 in the hunt for home court advantage.

There is no question that the Detroit Pistons are the best team in the NBA this season. They will definitely be the ones to beat.
